DEPARTMENT OF DAIRY BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
The Department of Dairy Business Management at the College of Dairy Technology, Udgir, was originally established as two separate entities: the Department of Dairy Economics, Extension & Management and the Department of Statistics, Mathematics & Computer Science in 2008. In 2016, these departments were merged to form a unified division, aligning with evolving industry and academic requirements under visionary leadership.
The department plays a vital role in equipping students with expertise in management, computer applications, and information technology, along with specialized knowledge in Dairy Extension Education, Economic and Financial Management, Marketing Management, Dairy Plant Management, Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship Development. Additionally, it provides essential coursework in statistics to support the B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) program, ensuring a well-rounded education that meets industry demands.
MISSION
- To emphasize on the application of Principles of Management in dairy business with special emphasis on co-operative dairy units. The emphasis shall be on main functional areas like Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Production and Information technology.
- To enhance the Decision making, Critical thinking and the Problem solving capabilities of the students.
- To bring out the hidden potential and entrepreneurship aptitude of the students and also to encourage team building activities.
- To make a significant contribution in the field of Dairy business by partnering with Industry & government and providing benefits to all concerned – Milk producers, Industry, Students, Government and Society.

Computer Lab
- Information technology being an important factor in imparting quality education, college provides a user friendly computer cell with internet access. The computer cell helps the institute to perform all its functions and equip the students to become truly global competitors. The Internet facility accessibility is available to all the students of the college. Department is made by furniture’s and furnished with installed high configuration of 16 computers with LAN.
Language Lab
- The college has developed excellent facilities, including a computer cell with internet access to enhance soft skills. The classrooms are equipped with modern technology like LCD projectors and interactive whiteboards. CDT, Udgir fosters a balanced environment that aims to shape students into tomorrow's leaders with a focus on comprehensive education. It encourages innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and social responsibility, preparing students for successful careers in the dairy industry.
