DEPARTMENT OF DAIRY CHEMISTRY

Dairy Chemistry is constituent department of College of Dairy Technology, Udgir since its inception in 2008. The Department is responsible for teaching various courses related to Dairy Chemistry, Food Chemistry and Quality Assurance to Under Graduate level. Department is also actively involved in various extension activities of the college/university by extending its expertise and facilities at various exhibitions, trainings, farmer’s meet and by organizing various training programs for farmers.

MISSION

  • To acquire and disseminate up-to-date knowledge in the area of Dairy Chemistry, Quality Assurance and Food Chemistry.
  • To develop manpower of B. Tech. (D.T.) Students with adequate knowledge of Chemistry of milk and milk products, their shelf-life, quality assurance, safety aspects, sanitation and hygiene of a dairy plant and brief overview of food chemistry.
  • To conduct research in benefit of society and consumer.
  • To participate in Krishi-melas, science exhibition and out-reach programmes organized by the College, University and by other agencies.

Work Experience:

  • Started the career as Shift Officer on 5th January 1998 in Vidya Dairy, Anand, Gujarat and subsequently Joined Department of Dairy Chemistry, College of Dairy Technology, Warud (Pusad) as an Assistant Professor in November 2001.
  • Selected and joined as Associate Professor, Deptt. of Dairy Chemistry, CDT, Warud on January 2008.
  • Subsequently Promoted as Professor (CAS) Dairy Chemistry in January 2014.
  • Worked as Associate Dean, CDT., Udgir from 12/06/2015 to 18/04/2017 and 01/06/2018 to till date
