Know about the College

College of Dairy Technology was established in the year 2008 as a constituent college of the Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur and situated in Latur district of Udgir.

The total intake capacity of 32 students from all over the Maharashtra and 3 seats over and above the intake capacity are reserved for Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) candidates for B.Tech (Dairy Technology).The college is accredited by the ICAR, New Delhi and are following the course curriculum as recommended by the 5 th & 6 th Dean’s Committee of ICAR. The major objective of the college is to produce trained human resource through it’s under graduate to meet the technical manpower requirement of dairy processing. All the passed-out students are well placed either in dairy industry, government departments or pursuing higher studies in various universities of repute. There are five departments in the college i.e. Department of Dairy Technology, Department of Dairy Engineering, Department of Dairy Chemistry, Department of Dairy Microbiology and Department of Dairy Business Management. The college is having one of the best laboratory facilities for teaching and practical classes of undergraduate students. All laboratories are well furnished and equipped with advanced and modern analytical instruments. The college is blessed with young and dynamic faculty with wide exposure and good infrastructure, especially laboratory facilities and Experimental Dairy Plant. Within short period of time the college has developed optimum facilities.

B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) (4-year programme)

The Candidate should have a minimum Qualification of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English from an Indian Board/University recognized by Council of Board of School Education with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST, BC and DP categories) in aggregate excluding the optional subjects(s). The students will have to submit a self-undertaking as per Annexure X-B, for information of the Board for their 10+2 class.
